On July 15, Alex Prior jumped in at the Brevard Music Center, leading the orchestra in Nielsen’s 5th Symphony and Stravinsky’s Petrushka. A summer institute and festival, the Brevard Music Center nurtures gifted young musicians on the cusp of their professional careers, preparing them to perform great musical works at a high artistic level.
